Oscillations is a series of lumen prints created in collaboration with the North Sea. The artist places expired photographic paper directly into the tidal zone, allowing the rising water to imprint its movement and texture onto the light-sensitive paper. These works document ephemeral cycles, leaving behind a trace of the ocean’s skin; ripples, salt, and movement, embedded in the paper’s chemistry. Sometimes left to develop for several hours, this process parallels the artist’s time-based approach to sound recording. The pieces are presented in brushed aluminium structures; echoing the aesthetics of scientific acoustic recording equipment.
